Divisional director major projects

After graduation from the BSc(Hons) course at SouthBank in 1988 Tony continued his employment with Wimpey Construction on a range of London/South East based projects. In 2001 Tony joined Mace and headed up a £200m project at Terminal 1 Heathrow as production lead. This hugely complex project involved the extension of the arrivals and departures lounges and the baggage systems to allow International flights to be received at T1, Keeping the terminal live and operational whilst extending the International Departures lounge and baggage halls was a an extremely challenging prospect. Whilst work to the new baggage sorters and equipment could be installed during the day the existing live baggage system could only be worked on/extended or reconfigured in the short non-operational overnight working window. Obviously, it needed to be functioning 100% for the next days operations. The project was successfully completed on time and budget and achieved over 1M continuous incident free man hours.

Following this Tony transferred to T5A and worked wit the leadership team on the main terminal building. Tony’s next project was with Mace as the operations director to head a £90m data centre for Morgan Stanley. He stayed with this project until successful completion in 2006, the project won data centre of the year.

In 2007 Tony was approached to Join Westfield to head up the £1.5BN Stratford City Project as project director. Running on parallel timescales with Olympic projects this mega project included 1.9M sq feet of retail and 4M sq ft of overall floor space, two hotels, offices, cinema, supercasino, 1001 bed student accommodation, 4 bridges and supporting infrastructure . The project was completed on time and the centre opened on one stupendous day in September 2011. After Stratford tony was engaged with upgrading the existing centres at Stratford and White City including the KIdzania Project build above a trading M and S store as well as pre development work on Westfield Croydon.

In 2016 Tony Joined the Board of St George West London part of Berkeley Group as production director and director responsible for health and safety. This role included overseeing a number of concurrent major projects in all stages of development and build.

In December 2018 tony joined McLaren Group as operations director major projects to undertake some unique and bespoke projects for this dynamic and growing company.
