Matthew Giles is Head of Development at The Crown Estate. He is responsible for the delivery of the development programme across the £12.4bn UK-based real estate portfolio.
In the past year, Matthew has overseen the completion of St James’s Market, the landmark central London scheme, delivered in partnership with Oxford Properties.
This year, The Crown Estate’s significant regional development programme will deliver more than 1 million sq. ft. of retail and leisure space, including Westgate Shopping Centre in Oxford and Phase 1 of Rushden Lakes, a new shopping and leisure destination in Northamptonshire.
Matthew is now focussed on positioning the next phase of The Crown Estate’s development pipeline in central London as part of its £1.5bn investment into Regent Street and St James’s.
Before joining The Crown Estate in 2015, Matthew spent 10 years at Buro Four Project Services, a specialist independent project management business.
