Steven started his career as an electrical apprentice for British Rail. After several years on the tools, Steven moved into the Health & Safety discipline. Following 10 years with British Rail he moved into the construction sector working for Lovell Construction, Sir Robert McAlpline, Skanska and Arup, including 6 years on the construction of High Speed 1 between Folkestone and St.Pancras station in London.

Following this, over an 8 year period, Steven held several senior leadership roles for Network Rail on major projects and as Head of Health & Safety for their national projects business. In January 2015, Steven joined High Speed 2 where he held Senior positions responsible for managing and overseeing the Client HSS delivery teams in supporting the Civils, Stations and Railway Systems contracts. After 9 years, Steven left HS2 and recently joined Jacobs, taking up the Head of Safety System Integration on the multi billion pound Sizewell C project.

Steven has a Masters Degree from Leicester University in Health & Safety Management, with a special interest in behavioural safety programmes.
