Created in-house, Local_ID is transforming how we use data within the construction industry. We want to enable our industry to build better communities. Local_ID does this, combining relevant data into one place, available at the click of a button. It has been used on major schemes including the current Portsmouth City Centre regeneration scheme, revitalisation of Buxton etc. The impact of which has helped with business plans and viability from inception, saved Councils significant time and has informed their development plans to better support their communities. Local_ID is being used, right now, to deliver better housing and infrastructure across UK

AtkinsRéalis
Mass Balances

AtkinsRéalis’ Mass Balances system, developed for Sizewell C, provides a step change in the integration of demand/supply profiles across technical disciplines. These pan-discipline profiles utilize unpivoted datasets for enhanced granularity and are hosted in a consolidated dashboard to interrogate the data. The highly interdependent profiles ensure consistent up-to-date inputs, through automated and seamless data exchange, which takes minutes rather than days. The system enables comparisons between predicted demand, capacities, and actual on-site demands, allowing early identification of inadequate supply and targeted acceleration of activities. Graduate engineers have developed this technology which is now fundamental for optimising high level delivery strategies.

Balfour Beatty
DigitalByDesign

We’ve delivered an exceptional digital solution to manage project delivery performance as part of our DigitalByDesign Strategy. Through this innovative digital solution, we achieved unparalleled technical collaboration, successfully managing project completion and establishing the golden thread for a complex hospital project. At MMUH, we revolutionised software utilisation, unlocking opportunities for Balfour Beatty and advancing our digital transformation. Importantly, we’ve embedded this digital expertise in early stages on other projects, exemplified by AWE project, Gatwick Airport, HS2 Head Houses, UoS West Slope, setting a new standard for project delivery performance and affirming our commitment to digital excellence in the construction industry.

Connect Plus with Connect Plus Services
Extending working windows on the M25

Alchera is revolutionizing M25 road maintenance by enabling Connect Plus and CPS to identify and safely extend work periods, maximizing each closure's output. By combining predicted traffic flows with real-time PayMech charges, Alchera helps planners decide whether it is safe and financially viable to extend working windows to complete more work in a single shift, lowering the total number of closures. This will improve journey experiences for the daily 300,000 M25 users and surrounding communities by delivering more efficient, less disruptive maintenance work. In summary, Alchera is driving significant improvements in road safety, user satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Using AI and data science to help us reach net zero construction sooner – a proof of concept

2024 - AI/Data is everywhere. 2024 - Built Environment accounts for ~15% of all global emissions. "AI/Data Science please tell us how to achieve a SCORS A+ rated building?” We have worked with a team of professionals to answer this based on EC totals for 100’s of real projects over recent years with a digital proof of concept. The answers highlight: - What A rated (& G) buildings have in common (No. of Stories, GIFA) - Sector with highest carbon currently. - Prompts discussion& provide insights based on real data. - Allows informed decisions to reduce carbon on projects sooner.

Kier with Ministry of Justice, Glider, and Future Decisions
MoJ Digital Twin

Kier has teamed up with the MoJ, Glider and Future Decisions to launch a ground-breaking Digital Twin Pathfinder project. We’ve created a Digital Twin of a houseblock at HMP Five Wells, the new prison completed by Kier for the MoJ in 2021. Our early results show that Future Decisions’ behaviour-based energy strategies can deliver operational carbon and energy savings of at least 20%, while also enhancing occupant wellbeing. Allowing operators to monitor and assess performance of each building component throughout its lifecycle will result in more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable operation, in line with the Government’s Net Zero Carbon ambitions.

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure with National Road Planing
A11 concrete road replacement

Working collaboratively across Tier 1, 2 and 3 organisations, we developed an innovative and collaborative approach to concrete road removal. We trialled, developed and deployed a specially modified planer to undertake the first ever removal of 300mm+ depth reinforced concrete carriageway in a single operation. The technology significantly outperformed conventional concrete road removal techniques. It was safer, reduced customer disruption and achieved faster, more reliable delivery. Benefits included: -35% carbon reduction -Safer construction for road users and operatives -Quieter operation, with reduced dust and debris -100% productivity increase compared to conventional technology -Earlier reopening of the carriageway to road users
