Our early involvement has built a continuing relationship with the previous landowner Honda, a testament to our effort over the three year lead in period and also involving them throughout the construction process. Together we innovated, managed risk and delivered sustainable demolition solutions. This project is supply chain excellence.
Through effective collaboration with our direct and supply chain supervisor community we developed and delivered an industry-leading 12-module health, safety and environment upskilling Passport. Five modules are completed before undertaking a Supervisory role on a Balfour Beatty site and the remainder with three months.Benefits include savings on time, costs and training resources, and consistent competency standards and zero harm leadership across our projects from day one resulting in industry-leading safety performance (a lost time injury rate of 0.11, an over 7-day lost time injury rate of 0.06, and a major injury rate of 0.02).
CWG’s Eden Dock project builds on three decades of exploring ways to integrate the principles of sustainability. Eden Dock showcases exemplary supply chain collaboration, transforming a concrete area into a lush green oasis. By leveraging Greengage's ecological insights, Howells' architectural precision, and Biomatrix’s water solutions, the project enhanced biodiversity and community wellbeing Raised terraces, floating islands, and community spaces showcase sustainable urban regeneration. This project sets a new benchmark, demonstrating how collaboration among specialists can create vibrant, sustainable communities and turn urban spaces into thriving ecosystems.
The construction of the first UK’s Safer Drugs Consumption facility by City Building in Glasgow brought many challenges but through experience, collaboration, and trust, fostering relationships and being able to bring our expertise and practical knowledge, alongside our supply chain at design stage, gave us an opportunity to bring not only value engineering but also be confident in bringing success to this project despite being under intense scrutiny.By introducing digital project management tools, providing real-time updates on deliveries, subcontractor performance, and project progress allowed for swift issue resolution and enhanced collaboration between all supply chain members.
Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, working with TfL (client) and Eave (specialist contractor), delivered the Beckton Depot upgrade by harnessing collaborative digital solutions that improved health, safety, and sustainability. Real-time data captured by advanced monitoring technologies reduced noise exposure incidents by 30%, streamlined project planning, and ensured consistent alignment with the Zero Harm initiative. Transparent communication and fair payment practices fostered trust across the supply chain, while early contractor involvement led to innovative risk management strategies. The success of the A417 Missing Link, is a direct reflection of the open communication, collective problem solving and mutual respect across the project teams and the supply chain. At Winvic’s Lancaster Street project, we introduced the UK’s first Skyline Cockpit ground control system, transforming crane operator wellbeing, inclusivity, and efficiency. Our AMPD Enertainer ESS slashed CO₂ emissions, aligning with net-zero goals. Partnering with Intervention Rescue and The Soteria Group, we provided specialist safety & construction trauma training. With zero major crane-related incidents and 100% workforce upskilling, we proved that Radius Group isn’t just a crane provider—we are redefining construction supply chain excellence.
The £390m National Emergency Area Retrofit (NEAR) programme to install 150 additional emergency areas on all lane running motorways by March 2025 has been entrusted to SMP Alliance, a progressive enterprise of seven organisations with 100+ integrated suppliers.By establishing a best-in-class dedicated multi-disciplinary collaborative team, SMP Alliance has overcome the immense challenges of delivering a difficult national retrofit programme to a tight deadline within a fixed budget.Just 18months after instruction, construction started in June 2023 on the first M1 scheme in South Yorkshire. This completed in October 2024, closely followed by four more NEAR schemes before Christmas 2024.
Our project allowed multiple businesses to collaborate together to improve the overall safety and efficiency of concrete deliveries throughout the principle contractors Section of work on HS2. From the feedback we gathered, opportunities for improvements have been made across the project and also the sharing of best practices between a number of teams. The initiative also allowed participants to spend time on site enabling people to obtain experience outside of their typical day-to-day activities improving 'Boots On' and Visible Leadership Tours between the principal contractor and their supply chain.
