David became Chief Executive of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), the trade association for commercial MEP contractors, in 2018, following a career as a nuclear submariner in the Royal Navy, then a mechanical services contractor (it’s all plumbing). He has 30 years of contracting experience and knows the specialist contractor’s role well. David was an early adopter of renewable technologies and now sits on the Steering Board for Skills for a Sustainable Skyline. David is also a member of the Build UK Board. In his spare time he is a long-suffering Spurs fan.
