"With over 40 years’ engineering experience Lawrence is currently Transport Scotland’s Director of Infrastructure Projects. Responsible for the roads programme, including the £multibillion A9 and A96 Dualling projects, he is also Director of Purchasing. This follows various roles within Transport Scotland including Head of Rail Projects, with the most notable being Project Manager for the iconic £1.35 billion Queensferry Crossing. In his early career, Lawrence was a project manager with Thorburn Colquhoun, now AECOM, working extensively on the £multi million, A14 M1-A1 link road. Lawrence is actively involved with the Institution of Civil Engineers, having been Chair of ICE Scotland (2017/18) and Glasgow & West of Scotland (2014/15). He is also Transport Scotland’s Supervising Civil Engineer responsible for ICE graduate training. "
